The Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety focuses its efforts on improving patient safety and reducing harm in health care. As part of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA), we have the insight and expertise needed to help address the unique challenges facing Illinois providers. Membership in MAPS PSO provides federal legal protections for all patient and visitor events from discovery in court. These protections under the Patient Safety Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA) outweigh any state privileges.
